We have chosen Merlot from Cal Miret state due to its voluptuous concentration of sweet confiture aromas. On the other hand, with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc we look for the structure and a good aging capacity.

67% Merlot , 33% Cabernet Franc cultivated with Biodynamic farming.
Maridatge Parés Baltà Grilled duck breast with sweet sour sauce and red berries.
Icona Premsa Parés Baltà First a cold pre-fermentation maceration at 8˚ C during 5 days to extract as much as possible of color and aromas. Then the two varieties were fermented separately at a controlled temperature of 25˚ C. Prolonged during 19 and 24 days respectively.
Icona bota Parés Baltà Ageing 13 months in new French Allier oak barrels.
Icona aspecte visual Parés Baltà Intense deep ruby with black tones.
Icona nota de tast en nas Great aromatic intensity and complexity with the explicit presence of preserved red fruit well balanced with the touch of toasty notes from the oak.
Icona sabor-gust On the palate it is soft and oily; with great amplitude and strength that marks its structure. Intense aroma of forest fruits combined with spices and toasty notes from the barrel. Persistent and pleasant aftertaste.

    like many Pares Balta wines Mas Irene is a very different and special wine. It is one of the those very rare wines you drink where you can taste and smell the naturalness. Completely different from the world of dominated commercial mass produced homogenised wines. Its clean, its pure and exquisite. Very smooth dark black ink with tones of the local minerals. If you understand about good wines and have the talent to spot special local wine then you have found one here. Excellent.

    Its intensity somehow comes across unstructured and leaves one with a feeling: Ok, but could also have something else..

    Dark red colour. Fruity on the nose. Tobaco, red berrys, Mature balanced vine , long in the mouth.
