Mas Irene

2019

An organic wine, concentrated and voluptuous with a view to the future

To make this great red wine we have chosen grapes from the Cal Miret estate for its voluptuousness and concentration in jam. The other selected varieties rounds off its coupage, giving it greater structure and ageing capacity.

Like all the women in the family, the eldest daughter of Joan and our winemaker María Elena, Irene Cusiné, also has a wine named after her. Mas Irene is dedicated to her, and to all women who, like her, forge the path they desire by overcoming obstacles and pursuing their dreams.

Microvinification. Mas Irene is only made in the best vintages.

Tasting Note

Sight

Intense garnet colour with a high black robe. The colour of the disc does not yet show signs of evolution.

Nose

Great intensity and complexity on the nose with aromas of candied red fruits well blended with a touch of high-quality toast.

Mouth

In the mouth it is smooth and oily, with wonderful amplitude and power that denotes its great structure. Intense aromas of forest fruits combined with spices and toasted notes from the barrel. Pleasant finish with a long persistence.

“Pure flavour, mineral and leafy notes. A fruity sensation that is more than original. We would even speak of inner beauty, of a blend of grapes that is sometimes fantastic and sometimes great. An essential wine”.
