Fruit and oak, soft and persistent. The balance of Yin and Yang is created in Mas Elena by the coupage of the three varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The soft Merlot combined with the structure and spice of the two Cabernets.
One empowering the other; and together creating a total balance of roundness and multiple layers.
70% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc cultivated applying Organic and Biodynamic farming.
Cured meat, grilled beef, grilled fish and tasty cheese.
Serve at 16-18ºC.
Maceration and fermentation of the three varieties separately under a controlled temperature of 25ºC.
Ageing 8 months in 2nd and 3rd year old French Allier oak barrels.
Intense ruby blue tinges.
On the nose a wonderful explosion of fruits combined with good balance and a soft touch from the ageing in the barrel. Background notes of liquorices and spice which increase complexity and intensity.
On the palate the wine is elegant and fresh, savory with a good structure and long aftertaste. The retro nasal perception of red fruit aromas, very well integrated with the toasty notes from the oak.
